All seafarers, regardless of rank and department, need to be in possession of an STCW security awareness certificate, even if they do not have designated duties on board. This course aims to increase crew members’ awareness of security threats, how to maintain the security of the vessel and heighten their security awareness.
This Online course takes 2 to 4 hours to complete. Once completed you will be issued a proof of study receipt which MUST be presented at our Approved Test Centre to take the final exam under exam conditions.
Seafarers who have designated security duties on their vessel are required to be in possession of an STCW security duties certificate. This course aims to educate crew members about the potential threats and vulnerabilities of a ship, as well as the capabilities and limitations of security systems. This course also covers how to maintain a ship security plan and how to effectively maintain security arrangements.
